Tegel is now able to offer flights from their Berlin airport to Tel Aviv. Germania will be flying this new connection to the Mediterranean metropolis three times a week. Every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, the Berlin airline will be taking off from Berlin Tegel in the evening, in order to land in Tel Aviv early Monday morning after an approximate four-and-a-half hour journey. The flights will return every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning. The Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport is the biggest airport in Israel. It is situated around 20 kilometres east of the city and well connected by a high-speed train and a motorway.

Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv-Jaffa – in 1950 Tel Aviv merged with the port town of Jaffa – is the largest conurbation in Israel. Whilst the centre of Tel Aviv is vibrant and modern, the original Jaffa captivates tourists with the narrow streets of the ancient Old Town. The coexistence of oriental and western culture lends the town an exceptional charm. Here, tourists can experience traditional market life at the Ha'Carmel fruit and vegetable market or meander along Sheinkin Street with its varied and inviting Cafés and boutiques. In the evening, the young Tel Aviv breaks free: The city enchants visitors with the Boulevard Rothschild and its thrilling nightlife, often compared to Berlin.

A particularly special attraction for visitors is of course the metropolis's sandy beach. The various sections of beach, which stretch for over 14 kilometres, are preferred by different groups of visitors, from athletes to tourists, but also as a social, meeting place for the locals. In addition to fun on the beach, Tel Aviv has lots to offer culturally. A collection of over 4,000 Bauhaus style buildings, the so called 'White City,' form part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Artists and art enthusiasts come up trumps in the textile and art markets while gourmets can enjoy the oriental, as well as the internationally inspired specialities.
