Schönefeld airport

Schönefeld Airport served as the main airport of East Germany from 1945 until the fall of the Wall with connections to the Eastern Bloc. In the 20 years after Die Wende, it rapidly developed into an up-and-coming airport for low-cost airlines. In 2011, the airport handled more than seven million passengers.

Berlin-Schönefeld Airport offered its passengers an attractive route network. In 2011, more than seven million passengers used the airport in south-east Berlin.
