Tunnel closure at Tegel Airport

06.11.2006
Alterations to traffic management system starting on 8 November 2006 and due for completion in May 2008
Starting on 8 November 2006, the tunnel at Tegel Airport will be overhauled and restored. The tunnel is expected to be completely closed to all road users in both directions for 18 months until May 2008.

The closure of the motorway access road via Kurt-Schumacher-Damm will lengthen journey times to Tegel Airport. Particularly those passengers coming from Hamburg/Rostock in the north via the Federal motorway BAB 111 should expect a 40-minute delay due to possible congestion. Road users will be diverted via Kurt-Schumacher-Damm (Route attached).

We recommend travelling to the airport by public transport. Passengers travelling by car should expect a 40-minute delay due to possible congestion. Current information on traffic congestion will be announced on the radio traffic news.
