4.3 Percent Increase in Traffic
In October, the month covered by this report, a total of 1,762,973 passengers were handled at the Berlin Airports. This represents a 4.3 percent increase in air travelers over the same month in the prior year.

In October, Schönefeld Airport recorded 588,899 passengers. This represents an 11 percent increase in comparison to the same month in the prior year. Regularly scheduled domestic traffic increased by 44 percent with 106,618 passengers. On regularly scheduled international routes, 429,389 passengers were transported. This result represents an increase of 12.1 percent.

In October, the number of passengers at Tegel Airport increased by 0.8 percent to a total of 1,114,639 passengers. On domestic routes, traffic increased by 5.9 percent with 495,161 passengers. A total of 556,298 passengers were registered on regularly scheduled international routes. This is equivalent to an increase of 0.5 percent.

In October, the month covered by this report, 59,435 passengers were handled at Tempelhof Airport. This is an increase of 9.3 percent. A total of 35,584 passengers were registered on regularly scheduled domestic routes. This represents a 12 percent decline in comparison to October of the prior year. On international routes, traffic increased by 113.5 percent with 20,195 passengers.

The total number of aircraft movements declined by 0.7 percent in October 21,884 takeoffs and landings. Air freight turnover increased by 10.1 percent at 2,370 tons. Airmail volume declined by 26.9 percent to 735 tons.
