“A missed opportunity”

Berlin Airports regret the rejection of the Tempelhof settlement
Berlin Airports announced today that the settlement proposal for the closure of Berlin’s inner-city airport Tempelhof, which was put forward by the Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg, has been rejected by several of the claimants. The company emphasised its regret that the compromise had not been accepted.

Klaus Wowereit, Governing Mayor of Berlin and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Berlin Airports stated: “The rejection of this settlement is a missed opportunity. The settlement was a good compromise and a fair solution that catered to the divergent interests of the airport company and the airlines seeking to halt the closure.”

Last week, Berlin Airports agreed to accept the settlement. The Supervisory Board of Berlin Airports last Thursday accepted the draft statement submitted by the Board of Management.
