Clear increase in passenger numbers/ Schoenefeld and Tegel record high growth rates/Tempelhof declining
In February, a total of 1,320,176 passengers were handled at Berlin Airports. This represents a year-on-year increase in air travellers of 8.1 per cent.

Schoenefeld once again recorded high growth of 12.9 per cent with 426,585 passengers. Regularly scheduled domestic traffic rose by 22.2 per cent with 99,755 passengers. On regularly scheduled international routes, 310,130 passengers were transported. This result represents an increase of 12.1 per cent.

In February, Tegel announced a 9 per cent increase in passengers. A total of 863,541 passengers were handled in the reporting month. On regularly scheduled domestic routes, 450,342 passengers were transported. This represents a 5.7 per cent increase. Regularly scheduled international traffic rose by 11.3 per cent. A total of 392,067 passengers were registered in this traffic segment.

In the reporting month of February, a total of 30,050 passengers were handled at Tempelhof. This represents a 41.3 per cent decline. 9,765 passengers were registered on regularly scheduled domestic routes. This result represents a 73.3 per cent decline. On regularly scheduled international routes, traffic increased by 50.9 per cent with 17,662 passengers.

The total number of aircraft movements in February amounted to 17,858 take-offs and landings. This represents a year-on-year increase of 1.5 per cent.

Air freight turnover increased by 6.3 per cent to 2,115 tons.

Airmail volume declined by 25.1 per cent to 742 tons.
