Passenger information in Tempelhof to close on 15 May

Passenger volume in Tempelhof continuing to decline: minus 49 per cent in April
On Tuesday, 15 May 2007, Berlin Airports will close the passenger information desk at Tempelhof Airport, due to a significant drop in demand for information from staff working on the desk.

"In view of the upcoming closure of the airport in October 2008, and the fact that less passengers and people meeting passengers are requesting information, we have decided to close the passenger information desk at Tempelhof", says Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Airports.

Compared to April 2006, passenger volume in April 2007 has dropped by 49 per cent to 26,902 passengers. This means that on average approximately 800 passengers per day use the airport.
