May 2007 traffic report

Passenger volume continues to increase at Berlin Airports / Increase at Schoenefeld and Tegel / Strong decline at Tempelhof
A total of 1,758,586 passengers took off and landed at Berlin Airports in May. This represents a year-on-year increase of 4.7 per cent. Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Airports: "Traffic is continuing to increase. Berlin is one of the most popular destinations in Europe."

Schoenefeld Airport continued to fly high in May with 562,502 passengers. This result represents an increase in passengers of 9.4 per cent.

It was also a good month for Tegel Airport with passenger numbers rising by 5.9 per cent to 1,164,383.

Traffic in Tempelhof continues to decline strongly with a year-on-year decrease in the number of passengers of 52 per cent to 31,701.

The total number of aircraft movements at all three Berlin Airports in May amounted to 22,484 take-offs and landings. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 10.5 per cent, due to the high number of movements during the ILA 2006.

Air freight turnover rose by 8.9 per cent to 1,767 tons.
