Rapid rise in passenger volume at Tegel / Figures remain constant for Schoenefeld / Downturn continues at Tempelhof
A total of 1,816,320 passengers took off and landed at the Berlin airports in July. That is 3.6 per cent more than in the corresponding month of the previous year, when traffic volume was especially high due to the World Cup 2006.

Schoenefeld Airport handled 621,174 passengers in July, which represents year-on-year growth for the period of 0.1 per cent.

The number of passengers using Tegel rose by 8.1 per cent to 1,169,155.

Traffic volume continues to shrink rapidly at Tempelhof, where the number of passengers fell by 50.2 per cent to 25,991 compared with the same month of the previous year.

Aircraft movements at the three Berlin airports totalled 22,135 and were down 6 per cent over the previous year.

At 1,644.9 tons, the volume of air freight was up 12.8 per cent over the figure for July 2006.
