“Berlin is a young, creative city – a busy, trend-setting capital and its popularity is rapidly increasing, particularly among young people,” said Burkhard Kieker, Marketing Director of Berlin Airports. “We wanted our campaign for the airports to reflect the city’s character and be truly eye-catching and memorable.”
The winning advert is one of a series in Berlin Airports’ worldwide campaign. The campaign is directed at international airlines and aims to highlight the unique advantages of Germany’s capital city: its central location at the heart of Europe and its outstanding appeal for visitors. The campaign was designed by the Berlin-based advertising agency, Jung von Matt/Spree.
Explaining their decision to award the Berlin Airports advert the gold prize, the juror stated: “The picture says it all“. The advert’s cleverness, clarity and precision are highly persuasive. The award was presented on the 18th of February 2008 in Singapore at a gala event.
