Speaking at a panel discussion at the MIPIM show, Berlin’s Senator of Urban Development, Ingeborg Junge-Reyer, welcomed the “exceptionally good development prospects that the BBI is opening up, all of which also impact on Berlin’s commercial property sector. We are confident this major project will stimulate the entire south-eastern region of the city.”
Situated in an exclusive location, directly opposite the central terminal, the BBI Airport City is destined to become one of the most advanced service and office complexes in the entire region. The 16-hectare development comprises a number of variable plots, enabling investors to plan buildings with six or seven storeys for modern shops, restaurants, bars, car parks and spacious offices, a hotel complex and conference facilities around a central plaza. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009/2010.
On the north-east perimeter of the airport Berlin Airports is planning the city’s largest business and industrial park – the BBI Business Park Berlin. This generously landscaped 109-hectare area offers customised, consolidated plots with roads and full access to public services. The project is ideal for a broad range of different businesses - from start-ups to back offices, from regional distribution centres to producers with global operations. The first development section is scheduled for completion in 2009.
