Easter holidays generate additional traffic for Berlin Airports

More passengers at Easter / Short breaks especially popular / Dollar rate stimulates long haul travel
Numerous holidaymakers from Berlin and the Brandenburg region took advantage of the many attractive flights from Berlin’s airports to get away from it all for a few days of relaxation. “We are expecting around 220,000 passengers over the Easter weekend, which is ten per cent more than we usually have at weekends. We are well prepared for the first really busy period of the year,” said Berlin Airports’ CEO, Dr. Rainer Schwarz.

Short city breaks to destinations in Europe are proving particularly popular this year. The Berlin Airports’ flight schedule includes over 100 European destinations. Classic beach holiday destinations like the Canary Islands, Egypt and Turkey, are also very much in demand, with bookings for these destinations remaining strong. This year, the strong euro has also boosted the demand for long-haul trips to the United States, the Caribbean and the Middle East.

All flights can be booked through www.viaberlin.com, Berlin Airports’ portal for modern travel to, through and from Berlin. A few clicks is all it takes to select and book flights. Additional services include transfer insurance, transfer services and a wealth of sightseeing tips and ideas for things to do in Berlin.
