Free admission to the BBI Infotower for ILA visitors and journalists / Berlin Airports at the ILA 2008 Conference Programme
This year’s international aerospace exhibition ILA, one of biggest aviation shows in Europe, will be attracting many thousand visitors from all across Germany and abroad. Nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 40 nations will be presenting their latest products and services at the show. This year, visitors to ILA will be invited to enjoy a very special highlight: in addition to the many attractions at the show itself, ILA visitors also have access the 32-metre BBI Infotower, a unique vantage point which provides a spectacular view across Europe’s largest airport construction site. The new Capital City Airport Berlin Brandenburg International BBI is being built immediately adjacent to the ILA site. The BBI Infotower will be open daily for the duration of the ILA. 3D telescopes on the roof of the tower give visitors a clear view across the construction site and into the future: a computer animation shows the airport gradually taking shape until its completion and opening in 2011.

The BBI Infotower, which is situated on the grounds of the ILA, is open between 10:30 and 18:00 daily and admission is free for ILA visitors. Last admission is at 17:30.

Accredited journalists are invited to visit the tower between 10:00 and 10:30 every morning to take a look at the BBI construction site, which is the size of 2,000 football pitches. Berlin Airports’ press officers, Ralf Kunkel and Eberhard Elie, will be on hand to answer any questions.

The ILA 2008 also coincides with the opening of Berlin Airports’ visitors pavilion at the foot of the BBI Infotower. The pavilion houses an exhibition about the new BBI airport; admission is also free of charge and the centre is open daily from 27 May 2008 from 10:00 to 18:00.
