Berlin Airports profits once again from two-digit growth

Berlin Airports is continuing to set new records: 2,219,540 passengers were recorded in September, up 11.5 per cent on the same month the previous year.
A total of 16,578,263 passengers were handled between January and September, 910,645 more than in the same period the previous year (+5.8%). Air freight also profited from positive results: 2,489 tons were transported last month, 42 per cent more than in September 2009.

Schoenefeld Airport recorded 700,446 passengers in September, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.6 per cent.

Tegel recorded 1,519,094 passengers in the same period, 12.4 per cent more than in September 2009.

Schoenefeld and Tegel combined recorded 21,787 flight movements, 3.5 per cent more than in the same month the previous year.

Air freight once again recorded strong growth due to additional loads on long-haul flights. A total of 19,690 tons were transhipped between January and September, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.3 per cent.
