13.12.2011
Changes in opening hours on 14 December 2011 / airportworld closed from 24 December 2011 to 02 January 2012 / Infotower closed on the holidays
The Berlin Airports can look back on a highly successful year in 2011. More than 250,000 visitors followed the progress being made at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport this year alone, coming to see activities at the construction site. People interested in paying a visit between Christmas and New Year’s will have the opportunity to look out over the new BER Airport from a height of 32 metres on the Infotower.

The Infotower will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm from 27 December to 30 December 2011 and will be closed only on the holidays themselves (24 to 26 December 2011 and 31 December 2011 to 01 January 2012).

The airportworld, the visitor centre operated by Berlin Airports, will be closed from 24 December 2011 to 01 January 2012.

airportworld will be open on Wednesday, 14 December 2011, only until 4.00pm owing to operational requirements. However, the Infotower will be open as usual in the time from 10.00am to 04.00pm.

All of the construction site tours which have been booked for the time between Christmas and New Year’s will take place as scheduled. Meeting place for all of the tours is in front of the airportworld.

Both Infotower and airportworld will be open as usual from Monday, 02 January 2012, to offer visitors their information and advising services.

The Berlin Brandenburg Airport will begin operation on 03 June 2012. The appearance of the new airport for the capital city region is becoming more cohesive with each passing day. Terminal and tower are in place, the runways are finished and the work on the surrounding buildings is moving ahead at top speed. So there is plenty to see for anyone interested in the project. A broad range of information and entertainment services offers all of the people from Berlin and Brandenburg the opportunity to view Europe’s most modern airport with their own eyes.

Progress on the construction site can be followed from home — via Webcam and construction site diary. For more information, go to www.berlin-airport.de
