BER recruiting countdown draws in huge crowds: 7,000 visitors attend careers fair21.03.2012
Today's careers fair in the BER recruiting countdown generated huge interest, with 7,000 visitors coming to airportworld in Schönefeld to find out about and apply for jobs at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Thirty exhibitors presented around 700 vacancies in and around BER. The airport is looking to recruit flight attendants, check-in staff, travel agents, service and restaurant staff in time for the opening on 3 June.
Edelgard Woythe: "Considering the great number of conversations that were held here today, we are optimistic that the employers will soon have the majority of their staff on board. To all those applicants who didn't manage to find something suitable today, keep searching our online job exchange for all the latest job offers."
"We are delighted that the people of Berlin and Brandenburg have shown such great interest in working at their new airport", said Prof. Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. "On 9 May, we will host the third and final careers fair in the BER recruiting countdown before BER goes into operation, together with the Potsdam Employment Agency. And then comes the final push before the opening for those looking to apply for a job at the airport, too."
