The Supervisory Board at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH has appointed Horst Amann (59) as the new Director Technology/BER for the next five years. Amann currently heads the Realisation Management Department at Frankfurt's airport company, Fraport where he is responsible for construction of the new runway as well as planning Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport. Prior to that at Deutsche Bahn, he was responsible for construction of the high-speed route between Frankfurt/Main and Cologne as well as the international railway station at Frankfurt Airport. Within the sector, he is regarded as being assertive and availing of extensive construction experience. Amann will commence his tasks in Berlin on 1 August 2012. "Horst Amann is a great asset to the airport company. He developed an excellent reputation while at Fraport and Deutsche Bahn. He is a man with assertive powers who speaks the language of the construction sector and will be an asset to our airport site", claimed Berlin's Mayor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the airport company, Klaus Wowereit, the Minister President of Brandenburg, Matthias Platzeck, and Rainer Bomba, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transportation after the Supervisory Board meeting. Amann will succeed Manfred Körtgen who held this position for the past four years.
