The ILA starts tomorrow / New exhibition grounds at BER


Tomorrow marks the start of the International Aerospace Exhibition ILA. For the first time, the ILA is being held on the new exhibition grounds of the Berlin ExpoCenter Airport to the west of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. More than 1,200 exhibitors are expected.

We are delighted that the Berlin ExpoCenter Airport is now a direct neighbour of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The new location is perfect for hosting a successful ILA."

First planes land at the ILA

The first aircraft for the ILA started landing on the south runway of Berlin Brandenburg Airport last Thursday – special permission was given to use the runway before the official opening of the airport. Flying displays organised by the ILA will also take off from the south runway.

Information on BER

Current information on BER is available at the airport company's stand in Hall 3. Also, interested visitors can go on a tour of BER Airport during the open days. The tours start every hour, on the hour, from the ILA car park P2. Participants will be given tour tickets on the bus, allowing them access to the ILA grounds. More information on the bus tour is also available at the airport stand in Hall 3. The tour costs €4 per adult, concessions are €2. Registration is not required.

The ILA 2012 is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the first few days (11–13 Sept.), admission will be restricted to trade visitors only, but on the weekend of 14–16 September, the focus will be on the outstanding programme of flying displays for the general public. This year's partner country Poland will be represented in all areas of the exhibition and in the flying displays.

Airport tours

During the trade visitor days (11–13 Sept. 2012), tours of the BER terminal will be offered to journalists. All participants are asked to meet at the Press Centre on the ILA grounds at 10.30 a.m.

Conference "The known consignor"

On 14.09.2012, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, LogistikNetz Berlin-Brandenburg (LNBB) and the Berlin Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance (BBAA e.V.) are hosting a cluster conference on "The known consignor" entitled "Faster transport vs better security".

Berlin ExpoCenter Airport, Hall 4 (Alfa Room), 9.30 a.m.–1.30 p.m.

Besides experts from the Federal Aviation Office (LBA), the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS) and DEKRA, managers from leading air freight and logistics firms will meet with airport representatives to discuss the challenges and goals of implementing and certifying uniform safety standards in the face of increasing cost pressure.
