FOCUS report: Airport company investigates alleged security deficiencies

11.11.2012

The latest issue of FOCUS magazine features a report on alleged security deficiencies at Tegel Airport.

We can confirm that the security systems at Tegel and Schönefeld Airport are fully functioning and have been audited by EU and national security services.

Regarding the reported route to the security area: the security area is only accessible via a locked and alarmed emergency exit door from multi-storey car park 1 via stairway 1. As soon as this door is opened, an alarm is triggered in the airport security centre. No doors depicted in the FOCUS report allow access to the security area.

An investigation into the matter was launched together with the relevant authorities immediately after the accusations were made and is ongoing.
