Concerning the corruption allegations against the heads of the Märkische Abwasser- und Wasserzweckverband (MAWV) and the engineering company Rohrleitungs- und Anlagenbau Königs Wusterhausen (RAKW)

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH forcefully rejects the allegation published in the media today that Berlin Brandenburg Airport is in any way involved in a corruption scandal.

The true facts of the case are that the specialised public prosecutors of the State of Brandenburg have launched a corruption investigation into the MAWV water association and the engineering company RAKW. The charges are bribery and corruption. The investigation will be focusing on the construction of the drinking water and waste water pipes at BER, which MAWV had contracted RAKW to install. The airport operating company has been cooperating very closely with the specialised public prosecutors over a period of time and it fully supports and welcomes the investigation. Should the allegations be confirmed then the logical consequence for the airport operating company would be to start legal proceedings against these companies.
