Berlin Brandenburg Airport is inviting families to a festival at the airport on the weekend of 14 and 15 September 2013. Visitors can expect a varied and informative programme of events surrounding the future airport.
"We aim to give everyone in Berlin and Brandenburg interested in BER the opportunity to get to know the new airport first hand," said Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. "At our family festival we will be opening the doors of BER to the public, offering tours of the terminal and the airport grounds as well as an informative programme including film and photo presentations live on stage. This will give visitors the chance to obtain information on site."
A diverse programme of events
The BER family festival will take place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., starting at Willy-Brandt-Platz in Airport City and going through Arrivals at BER to Departures right outside the terminal. A varied programme of events awaits, including music, entertainment and useful information on BER and aviation in general. A tour of the terminal, a look inside the train station, free tours of the airport grounds and a stage programme will provide a wealth of information on BER. Numerous exhibitors will present the latest technologies and offer an insight into airport operations. The airport's fire and police service, plus GlobeGround, will be present with vehicles and helicopters. A family-friendly programme in Airport City and outside the terminal, helicopter rides and other exciting aviation attractions complete the programme.
