BER continues the Family Festival on Sunday - 30,000 visitors came to the event on Saturday

14.09.2013
This Sunday, Berlin Brandenburg Airport is again opening its doors for the second day of the Family Festival. On Saturday in brilliant sunshine, 30,000 visitors came to BER. The bus tours left every few minutes and visitors were able to take a guided tour of the terminal without queuing; the only attraction where it was necessary to queue was the tours of the underground station. On stage, expert Q&A sessions and a varied entertainment programme provided fun for all, and there were plenty of great activities for families with children, including fire engines, a federal police helicopter, a bouncy castle and an aircraft rally.

The BER Family Festival also takes place on Sunday between 10 am and 6 pm. It is well worth visiting, even in rainy weather, as the festival takes place mainly under the large terminal forecourt roof. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as the terminal tours, the bus tour and the tours of the underground station without the risk of getting wet.

Varied programme

Visitors are invited to take part in three different tours, all of which are free of charge:
  • A look at the train station beneath the terminal: the tour begins on Willy-Brandt-Platz and lasts around 10 minutes.
  • A bus tour of BER: this gives visitors the opportunity to get off the bus on the grounds of the new airport. The starting point is on the arrivals level of BER and the tour takes 45 minutes.
  • A tour of the BER terminal will begin on the departures level. The walk around the terminal is signposted and visitors can set off at their own leisure without a guide; the walk takes roughly 10 minutes.

In addition, experts on the stage on the departures level will be providing information and making presentations on important topics dealing with various aspects of the future airport. A variety of exhibitors, numerous sports activities and other exciting attractions provide a varied family-friendly programme for young and old alike. There are also round flights in a helicopter. In addition, a DJ on the Spree Radio stage will be playing a variety of music all day long and will be giving visitors the opportunity to participate in competitions to win prizes. Admission to the Infotower is also free on Sunday.
