easyJet launches new service from Berlin to Tel Aviv

From the pulsating capital of Germany to the most exciting and vibrant city in the Holy Land: today, easyJet launched a brand new service from Berlin-Schönefeld to Tel Aviv. To mark the start of the new route each passenger received a Berlin teddy bear. easyJet’s new, thrice-weekly flight takes passengers to Israel’s liveliest metropolis for the opportunity to enjoy some of the city’s legendary joie de vivre.

The 44th service from Berlin-Schönefeld

easyJet will be operating the flights to Tel Aviv all year round on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Ticket prices start from €83.50*. Hartmut Mehdorn, Chief Executive Officer of Berlin Airports, welcomed to the new route, saying, “I am delighted that easyJet is expanding its route network from Berlin-Schönefeld with the new service to Tel Aviv.” With the new destination, the airline now offers 44 services from Berlin-Schönefeld in the current flight schedule. “We are pleased to be offering our passengers from Berlin and Brandenburg an even greater choice of direct flights”, says Thomas Haagensen, Director easyJet Germany. In keeping with its expansion plans, the airline is increasing the size of its fleet in Berlin this spring by adding another aircraft, thus creating 30 new jobs.

Tel Aviv – Oriental flair with western style

The moment anyone steps off the easyJet aircraft in Tel Aviv they are overwhelmed by the sheer vibrancy of a city that is oriental and western in equal measure. Sit back and soak up the inspiring atmosphere in one of the many cafés along Shenkin Street, where artists and bon vivants, poets, eccentrics and coffee fans congregate. Afterwards, dive into the colourful bustle of Tel Aviv’s markets, for example the popular fruit and vegetable market Shuk HaKarmel where traders sell local specialities. Then stroll around the city’s lanes and discover textile and crafts markets interspersed by typical Israeli restaurants. The best place to immerse oneself in the city’s breathtaking antique heritage is the narrow lanes and passageways in the old centre of Jaffa.
