Schönefeld Airport: Suspicious object in luggage was an electronic water pipe

The object discovered during the screening of a piece of luggage at Berlin Schönefeld Airport this evening was an electronic water pipe. The federal police initially assumed that the unidentified object was dangerous. The luggage was removed from Terminal D and opened. Passengers and associates at the airport were in no danger at any time. With the exception of a delay in the handling of one aircraft, flight operations were not affected. The closed-off areas have now been re-opened.
