More service for air travellers: new app release for Schönefeld and Tegel Airports

The Berlin airports in Schönefeld and Tegel have updated their app for Apple and Android smartphones, adding improved services for passengers and visitors. The new release, now available for installation, provides users with real-time data showing arrival and departure times of all buses and trains to and from the Berlin airports. The data are provided by the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) and display all of the stops, including live departure times, in the detailed view for any given route. For the first time, the app provides passengers with all of the important information they require for getting from their homes or hotels to the departure point.

Travellers who still have time to spare before their departure automatically receive notifications about “Vouchers and Specials” offered by retailers and restaurants. In addition, all of the airlines flying from Schönefeld and Tegel are now listed with website links and telephone numbers; a phone call can be initiated with a single click.

Plane spotters and other interested parties will find the aircraft registration number on the flight details page.

As in the previous releases, the new app will still offer the practical “My Flight” function for marking the selected flight. Users can also use the app to enter the details of their flights in the smartphone’s calendar if they wish. Details can also be sent to stored contacts by email or text message. As usual, travellers and visitors will find useful information in the app about available parking and prices as well as an overview of the shops, restaurants and services at the two airports.

The “Berlin Airport SXF/TXL” app can be downloaded now free of charge in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
