Court endorses noise protection:
FBB welcomes yesterday’s ruling

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH has welcomed yesterday evening’s ruling on noise protection by Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court. The court ruled that residents do not have to be protected from fictitious aircraft noise.
Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Berlin Airports, said: “Yesterday’s ruling confirms that we are on the right track with our noise protection programme. We are making good progress and have already processed 58 per cent of all the applications. Now that the Higher Administrative Court has endorsed our approach once again, we would like to advise all local residents have the noise protection fitted. We aim to send all residents an entitlement notice by the end of 2015. Currently, the majority of reimbursement applications for structural noise protection measures have been approved. We are offering free, customised advice to help ensure that property owners who receive compensation also use the money to install structural noise protection measures.”

Contacting the noise protection team

Any local residents who have questions regarding the noise protection programme or the status of their application can contact the noise protection team on the residents hotline and arrange an appointment for a personal meeting. The noise protection team can be reached between 9 a.m and 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday on +49 30 6091-73500. Detailed information can also be found in the airport company’s neighbourhood portal:
