Wage agreement: Employees receive 2.8 per cent more pay

Successful agreement has been reached in negotiations for a new company wage tariff for employees at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. After intensive talks the negotiating parties agreed to the following points:

  • The agreed basic remuneration as well as the pay for trainees and for students of the cooperative education college will be increased by 2.8 per cent from 1 March 2015.
  • The holiday pay bonus for employees will be increased from 500 to 700 euros, starting this year. The holiday bonus for trainees and for students of the cooperative education college is 400 euros.
  • The new collective remuneration agreement has a term of 14 months and ends on 29 February 2016.

"We are delighted with the positive result," said Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. "For years, passenger numbers at Schönefeld and Tegel have been outpacing the market. With the raise in remuneration and the holiday bonus, the employees are also sharing in the company’s success." The Berlin Brandenburg Airport board of management has already accepted the outcome of the negotiations. At the beginning of March, the ver.di wage bargaining committee will also make its decision concerning the present outcome of the negotiations.
