2015 Airport Night Run
Run along the illuminated BER

On Saturday, 18 April 2015, the ninth Airport Night Run will take place at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Once again, the Airport Night Run will lead runners over the south runway of BER, across the apron with a view of the terminal, the south pier and the tower. Participants can choose between a half-marathon and a 10-kilometre course (approx. 6.2 miles). Last-minute registrations are still possible.

Karsten Mühlenfeld, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: ‘We are delighted that almost 3,500 participants have so far registered for the run across the illuminated south runway. All those interested still have until 15 April 2015 to register online. Last-minute participants can also register on site, provided that places are still available. We wish all runners the best of success.’

Starting signal for the half-marathon and 10-kilometre run

The half-marathon run will begin at 7 p.m. and cover a distance of 21.0975 kilometres (approx. 13.1 miles), while the 10-kilometre run and a 10-kilometre power walk will start at 8 p.m. Around 25 minutes before the start of each event, participants can prepare with an official warm-up. The best runners in the three disciplines plus the firm with the best time and most participants will receive an award.

Directions and on-site services

The event grounds are in Service Area South of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Free parking is available on site. However, we recommend travelling by public transport. A shuttle service runs every 10 minutes from 3.33 p.m. and every 5 minutes from 6 p.m. between the S-Bahn train station Berlin Schönefeld Airport and the starting area in front of the new Maintenance Area of the airport (Hugo-Eckener-Allee stop).

Optimal provisions have also been made for visitors, companions and participants. Toilets, changing rooms, showers and lockers are available to runners in the starting area. Visitors and companions can cheer on participants in the starting and finishing areas in Service Area South. Unfortunately, it is not possible to accompany runners along the route.

Registering for the run

The Airport Night Run is organised by Golazo Sports GmbH (formerly Berlin läuft). Around 4,000 runners are expected. Today marks the deadline for written registrations. Online registrations are still possible up until 15 April at www.berlin-laeuft.de. Late registrations can only be made at the collection point for starter packs and documentation against a payment in cash or by EC card and at the late registration counter up to one hour prior to the start as long as places are still available. Late registration on the day of the event costs €45 for the half-marathon and €25 for the 10-kilometre race.

All runners must use a Real Time Champion Chip during the race. Participants who do not own a Real Time Champion Chip for electronic time recording can hire one for €6.

More information on the run and registration is available at www.berlin-laeuft.de or on +49 30 2431-9977.

Filming and photography

Film and photo journalists are allowed to film/take photos along the route, provided that they register in advance. All journalists must be accompanied by a Press Office representative. Please register by 15 April 2015 with the Press Office of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH by emailing pressestelle@berlin-airport.de.
