Concerning the recent report about BER Airport in the Tagesspiegel

18.06.2015

A report recently published in the Tagesspiegel gave the impression that there had been new developments concerning the question of a partial privatisation of FBB or the involvement of a private investor. That is not the case. There have not been any new developments regarding this subject.

As part of the notification procedure, the FBB is required to demonstrate to the European Commission the profitability of the capital contribution which is being sought. This is done by means of a market economy operator test, a process which reviews whether a private investor would also take the planned action; the sole and exclusive criteria are the prospects of return on the investment. This does not, however, in any way prejudge whether FBB should be privatised, either in whole or in part.

There has been no change: there are no new developments regarding this issue.
