Airport intensifies communication with neighbouring communities: Ralf Kunkel appointed Officer for the Environs22.12.2015
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH is intensifying its communication with neighbouring communities. Ralf Kunkel, who has been with the company for many years – most recently as Director Corporate Communication – will assume the position of Officer for the Environs on 1 January 2016. His primary task will be to intensify communication concerning the noise protection programme in close collaboration with the noise protection team managed by Ralf Wagner. Mr Kunkel will also act as the company’s key contact person for all decision-makers from the region, for communities, districts and municipal districts. Airport CEO Karsten Mühlenfeld, who will directly oversee this position: “Communication between BER and neighbouring communities will increasingly gain in importance in the years to come. Which is why I’m delighted that Ralf Kunkel will be responsible for this task. He knows the company like the back of his hand and enjoys excellent contacts within the respective environments.” Ralf Kunkel: “I’m looking forward to my new tasks. What’s important is that we now get down to handling the specifics of noise protection after dispatching the many claim adjustments. We still have a few steps to take before our environs perceive us as a good neighbour. And this is the path we will take.” In his capacity as Officer for the Environs, Kunkel succeeds Rosemarie Meichsner who will be moving to the PR Department.
