Fly Wizz Air to Kutaisi: New connection from Schönefeld to Georgia

23.09.2016

Berlin Schönefeld to Kutaisi in Georgia. The four-hour flights are scheduled every Monday and Friday. Wizz Air has been operating flights from Schönefeld since March 2016 – until now, offering connections to Skopje in Macedonia and Cluj-Napoca in Romania. The flights to Kutaisi will be followed by the addition of a new destination in December: Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina. All routes will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.

‘We are thrilled to celebrate today the commencement of another attractive Wizz route from Berlin to Kutaisi in Georgia. Wizz Air now offers three low-fare services from Berlin Schönefeld Airport and we are confident that our German customers will enjoy visiting Georgia, a unique destination with a rich history, ancient traditions, sea and ski resorts, inviting visitors to explore its renowned wines and famous cuisine. Seats on our new Berlin service can be booked from just €29.99* on wizzair.com. Our friendly crew looks forward to welcoming you on board a Wizz flight with a smile’, says Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager of Wizz Air.

‘Wizz Air is adding to Berlin’s flight schedule. In addition to Cluj-Napoca in Romania, the airline is now also flying from Schönefeld to another new and exciting destination: Kutaisi in Georgia. We are delighted with Wizz Air’s growth and wish the airline all the best for all future flights’, says Karsten Mühlenfeld, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.

Kutaisi and Georgia

Kutaisi is the capital of the western region of Imereti. The medieval cityscape has been well preserved to this day and offers a whole host of impressive sightseeing attractions, including the Bagrati Cathedral and the Gelati Monastery – both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Kutaisi is the ideal starting point for discovering Georgia. The land between Caucasus and the Black Sea has not yet really made a name for itself as a travel destination. One good reason therefore to discover this interesting and particularly varied country at the intersection of Europe and Asia. Here you will find everything from beach resorts and remote mountain regions to deserts. Georgia is one of the oldest countries in the world. As the frontier between East and West, it is considered a cradle of ancient civilisation.
