City of lovers
Verona, the city in northern Italy of poetic fame thanks to William Shakespeare’s play “Romeo and Juliet”, fascinates visitors with its medieval flair. Splendid churches and palaces still testify today to the economic and cultural importance of the city on the Adige. Traditional Verona can be explored by wandering through the old town to the Verona Arena, established in the year 30 AD and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Today, Verona is a popular tourist destination thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda and the lagoon city of Venice, thus making it an important economic player in the region.
