Concerning recent coverage: Article in the 'Bild am Sonntag'

06.08.2017

The assertion made in the newspaper 'Bild am Sonntag' that there is virtually no construction work being carried out at the moment at the Berlin Brandenburg Airport site, is false. The assertion that the completion of construction at the BER site is set for autumn 2018, is also false. The FBB is to name a target date this year for the planned start-up of operations at BER.

Over 400 construction workers and engineers are currently working on-site. They are seeing to residual work, the repairing of deficiencies and measures pertaining to the launching of operations. The number of construction workers currently on-site cannot be compared with the overall manpower that had been put into action months earlier, who saw to construction measures for the entire construction site. The major construction work in the traditional sense has been predominantly completed.

In general, however, the airport company (FBB) will not comment in detail on contractual arrangements made with individual contractors. The airport company's reconcilement with Caverion is proceeding in a constructive and solution-oriented manner. Caverion has pledged to the FBB that outstanding business issues that still need to be resolved will not impede construction measures any further.
