Joon takes off from Berlin

01.12.2017

On 1 December 2017, the first airbus A320 from Joon landed at Berlin Tegel airport. Passengers from the region can now fly to Paris-Charles de Gaulle 38 times a week with their youngest Air France subsidiary. From there they have access to the worldwide network of AIR FRANCE KLM.

"Air France has been in Berlin since 1960. We are all the more pleased to confirm this commitment with the help of our youngest subsidiary, Joon," explains Stefan Gumuseli, Director of AIR FRANCE KLM for Germany. "Thanks to optimised operating costs, Joon will boost growth in highly competitive markets, such as Berlin, and strengthen the position of the Air France group at its Paris-CDG hub."
"Welcome to Berlin, Joon!" says Chief Executive Officer of Berlin Brandenburg Airport GmbH Prof. Dr.-Ing. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup. "57 years ago, it was an Air France aircraft that made the first scheduled flights from Tegel, marking the beginning of civil aviation at our capital’s airport. We have successfully worked together for many years, so for this reason I am all the more pleased to welcome the second generation of Air France to Tegel. Joon is just as young, hip and trendy as our city – and it suits Berlin perfectly. We wish them much success and always happy landings!"

Passengers flying with Joon from Berlin to Paris can look forward to a special travel experience. This includes culinary delights, with around 60 sweet treats that the crew sells on board, many of which are organic. In addition, passengers can choose from complimentary drinks such as water, orange juice, Segafredo organic coffee and tea.

With YouJoon, you can stream for free during your flight on your smartphone, tablet or computer. For this purpose you can connect directly to the Joon portal on board and watch television and animation series, internet TV and animated cartoons. Empty batteries can be conveniently charged using the USB socket on each seat.

Throughout the journey, Joon passengers benefit from Air France’s range of services. You can easily catch a connecting flight at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, as well as earn and spend miles in the frequent flyer programme of AIR FRANCE KLM, Flying Blue. Business class guests, as well as Flying Blue Gold and Platinum members, have access to SkyPriority.
