Airport Campus, now entering its 8th semester, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the airport

The Airport Campus lectures are about to start again: the joint university project of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH and Potsdam Employment Agency will be entering its next semester on 22 October 2013. The lecture series offers students exciting and practical insights into the challenges on the path to opening BER as well as the processes at SXF and TXL airports. Numerous aviation industry experts from the region share their knowledge and experiences at the lectures, providing a balanced combination of science and practical application. Since its inception in November 2008, more than 2,000 students from universities and colleges in Berlin and Brandenburg have taken part in the lecture series.

In the winter semester 2013/2014, Airport Campus will be offering four highly informative lectures:

  • Tuesday, 22 October 2013, 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. “SPRINT – the fast-track programme on the path to BER” Uwe Hörmann, Head of Central Planning and Strategy, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH
  • Tuesday, 19 November 2013, 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. “Tegel at full capacity – a look behind the scenes of operations at the airport” Elmar Kleinert, Head of the Operations Business Unit, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH
  • Tuesday, 10 December 2013, 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. “Accompanying the process of change: changeability at the airport company from the human resource management perspective” Guido Baer, Head of Human Resource Policy, and Uta Beims, Assistant to the Head of Change Management, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH
  • Tuesday, 14 January 2014, 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. “No air traffic without ground handling – a behind-the-scenes look at the processes of ground services provider GlobeGround Berlin” Frank Meichsner, Divisional Head of Central Quality Management / Projects, GlobeGround Berlin

All students interested in aviation can register without any great formalities by sending an email to airportcampus@berlin-airport.de. Participation is free of charge. The number of places available at the venue, however, is limited. The lectures will be held at the Berlin Brandenburg Airport Center (²BAC), Willy-Brandt-Platz 2, 12529 Schönefeld, which is located directly in front of the BER terminal.
