Passengers with a soft-spot for the North, city-lovers or simply those who want to relax in a city on the sea, a stay in the capital city of Finland comes highly recommended. The small, inviting and above all compact metropole in the Gulf of Finland entices guests with its sights (the Suomenlinna sea fortress being one to the most popular), architecture (you can see the spectacular neoclassical buildings), culture (with more than 70 museums), shopping and pleasure (the city of gourmets). Nature lovers flock to the spacious, green parks of the city, the untouched forests, the famously clean lakes and over 300 islands.

Stockholm 2

Picturesquely located between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea, built on 14 islands, characterised by numerous waterways and connected by 53 bridges, Stockholm is also known as the "floating city" and "The Venice of the North", so a sightseeing tour via boat is simply a must. Locals also confidently boast living in "the most beautiful city in the world". Should you need to describe the Swedish capital in one word, it would most likely be 'diverse'. That alone can be seen from their rich architectural heritage – from the well-preserved mediaeval townscape, the romantic old city of Gamla Stan and the regal stately buildings and castles (Stockholm is residency to the king as well as parliament) to the more modern buildings, such as the Ericsson Globe (a huge event arena). Additionally, Stockholm offers an array of gastronomic and cultural experiences with their countless restaurants, galleries and museums (the Vasa Museum, the Junibacken and the ABBA Museum being perhaps the most popular amongst them) and the city's general attitude towards life. Above all, the thriving city in the summer months fascinates visitors with its long nights. Be it a music festival or a marathon, cultural or children's program, Stockholm has something for everyone.

Milan, the hustling metropole of the northern Italian region of Lombardy, is the centre of Italian economy. Well-known companies such as Allfa Romeo and Pirelli as well as the Italian stock exchange have taken up residency here. In addition, fashion is of huge importance to the city. The Milan Cathedral, Milan's Scala (the large opera house, erected in 1776), the painting of The Last Supper in the Basilica Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Canale Naviglio Grande (the oldest canal in the city, which served for centuries as a transport route to Lake Maggiore) are amongst the most well-known sights of the city. Milan however is so much more. Milan is an ever-changing city, in which a vision of modernity, nature and quality of life have always been of great importance. As a result, it now boasts not only modern districts and imposing buildings but also new parks with room for some rest and relaxation. Additionally, just outside Milan, you will find the picturesque Lake Como, set into Alpine foothills.

In Cyprus the sun never stops shining. The hot, Mediterranean climate makes the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea one of the most popular and diversely scenic holiday destinations. Its location between three continents (Europe, Asia and Africa) and along several historic sea routes gave the island an eventful history and numerous influences from different cultures, as testified by the numerous excavations, chapels, churches and old tombs.
Popular holiday regions of Cyprus include the coastal town of Paphos (where you can discover well-preserved Roman houses as well as ancient royal tombs), Agia Napa (the best-known seaside resort on the island), the two ports of Larnaka and Lemesos as well as the divided capital of Nicosia (which's 5km+ Venetian fortification wall ranks as one of the best-preserved and largest city walls in Europe and the Orient).
