Marrakech is bursting with colours, smells and sounds. As of now, the city in the heart of Morocco can be reached directly from Berlin again. Ryanair and Laudamotion operate flights from Schönefeld and Tegel respectively to the city where the magic of fairy tales from the Arabian Nights comes to life. Marrakech, one of the four royal cities of Morocco, is also called the “Red City” because of its reddish mud houses. The Bahia Palace, the Medina with the market place “Djemaa el Fna” and the Koutoubia Mosque are particularly worth seeing. Visitors will find a quiet place where they can recharge their batteries in the “Jardin Majorelle”. The Botanical Garden, where fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent once lived, is considered to be one of the most beautiful gardens in the world.

Travelling to Morocco with Ryanair and Laudamotion

From 29 October 2018, Ryanair will once again be flying from Schönefeld to the fascinating city in western Morocco twice a week. Flights will run on Mondays and Fridays. Planes will also fly directly from Tegel to Marrakech. Laudamotion flights to the North African city every Wednesday and Sunday will commence as early as 28 October 2018. The plane journey lasts slightly more than four hours. You can book your flights now.

Insider tips

A visit to the souks constitutes a real feast for the senses. Visitors can experience oriental flair up close in the narrow alleys. Surrounded by fragrant spices, colourful dresses and eager merchants, you are sure to have an atmospheric experience. Attention: it is easy to get lost in the maze of alleys. In her blog “Frau auf Reisen” (“Woman on the Road”) Bärbel reveals what to consider when haggling and how to behave as “untouristically” as possible.
