Fly straight to the heart of London

12.11.2018
London BA1

BA CityFlyer is expanding its range of flights and will fly a total of 19 times a week from Tegel to London City Airport this winter (2018/19). Its proximity to the financial centre means the inner-city airport is particularly popular with business travellers and bankers. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) platform is just a few minutes away from the airport. The modern driverless elevated railway runs directly to the “Bank” station in London’s financial district. Many other destinations in London’s city centre are only about 30 mins away from the airport, which is abbreviated to LCY. The connection is therefore also ideal for weekend travellers and Christmas shoppers due to its short routes to the City of London. In this city, Christmas will reign supreme from the end of November. Traditional Christmas markets, endless lights, skating and Christmas shopping are just a stone’s throw away from the LCY.

There are no middle seats in the aircraft, only window and aisle seats. The journey takes just under two hours. You can book your flights now:

Insider tips

Anyone who has been to London before and knows Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, is recommended to visit the Docklands area in the east of the British capital. The Docklands used to be part of the harbour and are located in the area surrounding City Airport. This is where different worlds meet. Between the big, modern office towers of the financial district “Canary Wharf”, there are cosy pubs, old department stores, small parks and even a farm with a petting zoo (“Mudchute Farm”). There is also the Billingsgate Fish Market, a lasting establishment. Here, early risers can observe the hustle and bustle of the fish merchants from 4.00 a.m. onwards. You can find information on what else there is to discover at the Docklands in the travel blog “yummytravel”.
