Start your Holiday relaxed

With the start of the summer holidays, the number of passengers at Berlin’s airports Schönefeld and Tegel is on the rise. On the first weekend of the school holidays (12th to 14th April) alone, the airport company is expecting more than 2,200 flights and 240,000 passengers. The peak of the Easter travel period is the long weekend from 19th April to 22nd April with up to 400,000 passengers. In total, more than 1.3 million passengers are expected throughout the Easter holidays.

In order to start the Easter holidays as relaxed as possible, despite significantly increased passenger numbers, the airport company asks that passengers prepare for flights as best as they can. In addition to information about the situation at the airport or online check-in, which many airlines offer free of charge, this also includes packing hold luggage and hand luggage correctly, as well as arriving to the airport in a timely manner. Passengers are requested to be at the airport at least two hours prior to departure and are required to go to security as soon as possible after check-in.
