Another insider tip: Armenia

03.01.2020

Ryanair is launching a new direct flight from Schönefeld to Yerevan at the beginning of the 2020 summer flight schedule. From 25 March onwards, the capital of Armenia will be served every Tuesday and Saturday directly from Berlin. The flight time is four hours. The flight will take off from Schönefeld on Tuesday at 3 pm and land at Zvartnotz International Airport (EVN) at 9 pm local time. Ryanair will leave Schönefeld every Saturday at 6:20 am and reach Yerevan around midday at 12:20 pm. Zvartnotz Airport is located about ten kilometres west of Yerevan.

Armenia can look back on a millennia-old Christian culture and is considered an insider tip for tourists thanks to its countless monasteries, cultural monuments and dreamlike beautiful Caucasus landscapes. The capital Yerevan is a city full of contrasts when it comes to its architecture: monumental Soviet heritage is mixed with modern buildings, old churches and traditional houses. Yerevan can be experienced as both a modern metropolis and as one of the oldest cities in the world. Yerevan is also called the “Pink City" because of its countless pink tufa-brick buildings. Its panorama is dominated by the snow-covered Ararat Massif. This mountain, on which, according to tradition, Noah and his ark landed, towers four kilometres above the city and can be seen from almost every point in Yerevan. Don’t miss the Republic Square, the cascades and at least one of the many churches.
