Two new destinations from Berlin-Schönefeld

06.07.2020
Wizz Air

Wizz Air now flies to Kharkiv in Ukraine. The Hungarian airline will fly directly from Berlin-Schönefeld twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, to the city in north-east Ukraine. Another new destination, Tirana, will be added on 15 July. There will be flights to Albania’s capital every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both destinations are currently particularly interesting for business travellers and ethnic transport.

With a population of around 1.5 million inhabitants, Kharkiv is the second largest city in Ukraine after Kyiv. The modern industrial city is an important transport hub and cultural centre in the north-east of the country. Tirana is the capital of Albania and the country’s cultural, economic and political centre.

Wizz Air in Berlin

The new routes extend Wizz Air’s flight services to Eastern and Southern Europe. The airline has continuously expanded its flight schedule since its first flight in 2016. Wizz Air currently flies twice a week on average to Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Varna (Bulgaria), Kutaisi (Georgia), Chişinău (Moldova), Skopje (Northern Macedonia), Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa, (Ukraine) as well as Budapest (Hungary).

Information for our passengers

There is a general travel warning in place for travel to countries outside the European Union until 31 August 2020. Therefore, travellers are encouraged to find out about any current travel restrictions and information in the respective country before starting their journey.

Furthermore, passengers are also asked to arrive two hours before departure and to look at the changed processes at Berlin Airports before their flight. At both airports, passengers must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose in the terminals and observe the general distancing and hygiene rules. Due to changed processes at the security checkpoints, each passenger is only allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage.

Information for our passengers at Schönefeld and Tegel

The airport company has implemented numerous measures at both airports to ensure safe and reliable arrivals and departures from Schönefeld and Tegel airports. Furthermore, passengers are asked to prepare for their flight and their time at the airport at home, to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth, and to diligently comply with the applicable distancing and hygiene rules.
