The airport company can look back on a successful 2018 business year with significant growth in its core business. FBB's operative result (EBITDA) reached a new record in 2018 at 118.7 million euros. This positive operative result of plus 16.7 percent is largely the result of higher passenger numbers and therefore a higher turnover.

After the supervisory board took note of this in May, the shareholder meeting held yesterday also observed the annual financial statement. The business report is also available on the FBB website.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: "Not only did we welcome significantly more passengers in 2018, but we also achieved a good economical result. Our growth makes it clear that we need BER as a modern capital city airport. With the start of the operating principle test, we have taken an important step towards the opening".

Heike Fölster, Chief Financial Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: "Turnover has increased in both the aviation sector and the non-aviation sector despite the aging infrastructure. This is a delightful development that is thanks not least to the high level of commitment of our staff".
