Great interest in BBI

Berlin Airports presents its development sites at the capital city’s future airport at the commercial property trade fair MIPIM in Cannes
"BBI Airport is set to become one of the most attractive investment locations in the Berlin metropolitan region over the next few years,” commented Thomas Weyer, BBI technical managing director of Berlin Airports, at the international commercial property trade fair MIPIM in Cannes. “BBI’s key advantages are its excellent traffic links in the air and on road and track, as well as the development permit which has now been officially confirmed by the highest appellate court. BBI will enable Berlin to earn above-average profits from the present worldwide growth in air traffic.

Berlin Airports is currently staging a joint presentation with partners from Berlin and Brandenburg at MIPIM 2007 in Cannes. The central focus of Berlin Airports’ marketing activities is the so-called BBI Airport City between the two planned runways. Four to 12 variable development areas ranging in size between 4,500 and 23,000 square metres are planned on a site covering 16 hectares. Altogether, some 140,000 to 180,000 square metres of gross floor space are earmarked for office, hotel, gastronomy and retail use. The planners envisage buildings with four to six floors and a height of between 14 and 29 metres. Multistorey car parks and parking areas providing spaces for altogether some 12,000 cars are also planned.

The second development site is the BBI Business Park Berlin. The approx 109-hectare site offers opportunities for a wide range of applications, ranging from hotel use to large-scale industry depending on the location. Made-to-measure plots are available here in various different shapes and sizes from 2000 square metres upwards. The development planning procedure looks likely to be completed by the third quarter of 2007. The first construction phase will complete development of a 16-hectare area by mid-2008. You will find Berlin Airports at Stand H 4.28.
