Berlin Airports and Deutsche Welle are launching a new service for passengers at Tegel Airport
In 2006, 12 million passengers flew via the Capital Airport Tegel, half of which were business travellers. Berlin Airports and Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle DW-TV are now joining forces to offer a new service specifically for this target group.

The DW-TV newscast JOURNAL will be showing 17-minute news bulletins in German and English at the departure gates, keeping business travellers from Germany and abroad well informed. News tickers will also keep all passengers up to date with the latest news flashes.

"Our new service is particularly interesting for both business travellers and diplomats. Those flying via Tegel will now be well informed. We are working continuously on making a stay at the airport a pleasurable experience for our visitors. Joining forces with DW-TV is a good example of this", says Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Aiports.

Erik Bettermann, Director of Deutsche Welle: "As the capital and a key European metropolis, Berlin is an attractive destination for business travellers and holidaymakers from Germany and throughout the world. We are delighted to be able to present to you the flagship of the German international broadcaster at the airports. Deutsche Welle can thus generate more publicity for its TV offering, particularly amongst its core target group of foreign disseminators."

The new joint venture also involves presenting Berlin Airports in the programmes offered by DW-TV abroad. Berlin Airports is using innovative commercials to advertise a flight to the city of Berlin.

Deutsche Welle is Germany's international broadcaster – with DW-TV in German, English, Spanish and Arabic, DW-RADIO in German and 27 other languages, as well as the equally multilingual online offering of DW-WORLD.DE.
