Berlin Airports welcomed the decision announced today by the joint regional planning conference of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg...
...to limit air traffic at airfields in the region around the capital to aircraft with a maximum weight of 14 tons.

“Airport policy for the Berlin region has been pursuing a common goal since the joint 1996 agreement: to focus all air traffic on the single airport Berlin Brandenburg International BBI,” explained Berlin Airports’ CEO, Dr. Rainer Schwarz. “All efforts are being directed at building one airport, BBI, because this will enable us to continue the success story of Berlin Airports while at the same time providing the Berlin region with a decisive competitive advantage in the increasingly tough battle amongst European regions.”
