Adventure day at Tempelhof Airport
09.08.07 15:36The travel exhibition in the main hall of Tempelhof Airport will revolve around aviation, travel, holidays and relaxation, with travel organisations, airlines, hotels and tourist boards presenting their latest offers. Berlin Airports will also be represented with information on the airports and BBI. What's more, visitors will be entertained with a varied stage show, attractions for kids and contests.
Adventure day provides the perfect opportunity to get to know Tempelhof in a new way. Guided tours will take visitors on a journey through history to, amongst other things, old air raid shelters from WWII, one of the halls converted into a basketball court by the Americans stationed there at the time and the roof with a view of the apron. Bookings can be placed at www.air-service-berlin.de for the special price of 6 euros per person.
Visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of Tempelhof on exclusive flight tours over Berlin. An Airbus A330-200 wide-bodied jet operated by LTU will fly from Düsseldorf to Tempelhof where it will offer flight tours. Air Service Berlin will also be offering flights with the raisin bomber DC3, as well as the biggest double-decker still taking to the skies – the Antonov An-2 – and helicopter flights. Flight tours start at 69 euros and can be booked at www.airevents.de or. www.air-service-berlin.de.
The travel exhibition is being held on 8 September 2007 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Entry is free. We strongly recommend travelling to the event by public transport.
