08.04.09 13:57There’s a destination to suit everyone among the 155 available from Berlin. City breaks inside Europe are proving very popular again this year. Culture and shopping are in demand – and the occasional short trip to New York, too. Sun worshippers won’t be disappointed either, with beach and bathing holidays on offer in Thailand, Cuba, the Dominican Republic as well as the Mediterranean countries and the Canary Isles.
Passenger Information: Check-in
For early-morning departures, some airlines offer check-in between 6 and 9pm on the previous evening. Passengers should contact their airline direct for details.
Before leaving for the airport, travellers should always check that they have packed a valid identity card or passport.
Passenger Information: Hand Luggage
Passengers are requested to obtain such bags for themselves and to pack the liquids before setting out. Plastic bags can also be purchased at the airports. Such liquids include gels, pastes, lotions, emulsions containing liquids and solids as well as the contents of pressurised containers, such as toothpaste, hair gel, beverages, soups, syrup, perfume, shaving foam, aerosols and other articles of similar consistency. Special foods (eg, baby food) and medicines required on board do not have to be carried in the plastic bag but must also be presented separately from the hand luggage at the security check point and a plausible reason for why they are needed. Lipsticks and lip balm also do not need to go into the plastic bag.
Travel Value & Duty Free articles purchased from a shop beyond the security check points at EU airports or on board an aircraft belonging to an EU airline on the day of the flight may also be carried as hand luggage in future, provided a purchase receipt dated the same day can be presented.
