Daily flights to Tel Aviv / New passenger record expected in 2010
This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of EL AL Israel Airlines at Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport. The airline, whose first flight departed for Tel Aviv on 4 September 1990, currently operates seven flights a week to Israel and plans to offer five weekly connections in its 2010/2011 winter flight schedule.

“Happy anniversary! We are delighted with EL AL’s Berlin–Tel Aviv service, which has been operating successfully for the past 20 years now. We look forward to continuing working with the airline over the next few years in Schoenefeld and as of 2012 at BBI”, said Prof. Dr. Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Airports.

“The Tel Aviv–Berlin connection is so important to us that we have expanded our flight offerings considerably. We are already looking forward to serving the new Capital Airport BBI”, said Ben-Zion Malka, General Manager, Germany & Austria, of EL AL Israel Airlines.

Passenger figures for EL AL in Berlin have continued to rise. In the first seven months of this year, 38,067 passengers flew the Berlin–Tel Aviv route; 28 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.
