Three flights a week between Berlin and Bilbao with Vueling

New-generation airline Vueling has this week started operating non-stop flights between Berlin and the Basque city of Bilbao.

Vueling Airlines is operating three flights a week (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday) between Berlin and Bilbao, landing every Monday and Wednesday at 6.15 p.m. in Berlin and returning to Bilbao at 6.55 p.m., and landing every Saturday at 6.50 p.m. in Berlin and returning to Bilbao at 7.30 p.m.

Bilbao is known for its Guggenheim Museum, delicious cuisine and traditional culture. The extremely green coastline of the Bay of Biscay also offers numerous leisure opportunities. Furthermore, Bilbao is one of Spain's key economic hubs and is particularly well known for its automotive industry.

As well as Bilbao, Vueling is offering a daily connection from Berlin to Barcelona. As Vueling uses Barcelona as a hub, passengers can choose from more than 40 additional flight destinations, including direct flights to the Balearics, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Malta, Malaga, Rome and Naples. There is no need to re-check in luggage on these flights.

To celebrate the new connection, the crew and passengers of the maiden flight received a welcoming surprise at Berlin-Tegel Airport in the form of an aurresku, a traditional Basque folk dance. Prior to this, Catalonia's biggest and greatest folk choir, the Orfeo Català, had bidden farewell to the 150 passengers in Bilbao.

Tickets can be purchased at www.vueling.com, through tour operators, via the Vueling iPhone app and by calling the Service Hotline (+34 931 518-158) between 8 a.m. and midnight. Tickets are available from €79.99, including taxes and charges.
