Condor Ski Flying: On 22 December 2012 the German leisure carrier celebrated two inaugural flights to Klagenfurt Airport (KLU) in the heart of the skiing paradise of Carinthia. The new non-stop service from Schönefeld (SXF) to Klagenfurt (KLU) departs on Tuesdays and Saturdays; the flights to the mountains from Hamburg (HAM) leave on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Ski equipment and snowboards up to a weight of 30 kilograms can be taken on these flights free of charge and without prior booking. One item of skiing luggage or a snowboard is permitted per person.

“Condor is a leisure carrier and a skiing holiday is a wonderful alternative to a beach vacation”, says Achim Lameyer, Director Passenger Sales. “Klagenfurt, a fabulous skiing destination boasting superb skiing regions such as Turacher Höhe or Gerlitzen, is the perfect addition to our flight schedule.”

Prof. Dr. Rainer Schwarz, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “We are delighted that Condor is further extending the airline’s route network from Berlin-Schönefeld by adding the winter destination Carinthia/Klagenfurt. For skiing enthusiasts from Berlin and Brandenburg the new service is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a quick and easy winter holiday without a long journey.”

Michael Eggenschwiler, Chief Executive Officer of Hamburg Airport: “People in North Germany love winter sports. The launch of this new service from Hamburg at the best time of the year to a further attractive skiing and snowboarding destination will delight our passengers. We are certain that this will become a very popular service.” Both services are available for booking now; all-inclusive prices for a one-way ticket to Klagenfurth in Economy Class start from €59.99 and from €109.99 in Premium Economy Class. Condor flights can be booked through all travel agencies, online at www.condor.com or on 01805/767757 (14 cents/min for calls from the German landline, calls from mobile networks are charged at a maximum of 42 cent/min).
